Abstract for Treanor’s Talk

In this talk I explore the idea, much maligned of late, that it is truth that is the proper work of the intellect. I will set out in some detail what I take to be the standard way of understanding this view and argue that this way of understanding the view badly misconstrues it. Seeing where we have gone wrong will point toward a more accurate, and credible, conception of what it is for truth to be the good of the intellect, or its proper work.
